Nations FC coach, Kassim Mingle, voiced his frustration at the missed opportunities that cost his team in the 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak on match-day 15 of the Ghana Premier League.
Despite the challenging encounter, Mingle acknowledged that they couldn’t secure the win due to their inability to capitalize on scoring chances.
Hearts of Oak’s Hamza Issah netted an early goal, but Nations FC fought back, and Richard Danso’s late equalizer ensured both teams shared the points at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Reflecting on the draw that interrupted their five-game winning streak, Coach Mingle admitted, “It was very competitive. We couldn’t take the chances we created, and they punished us with an error we created in defense, but we fought back to equalize.”
Expressing concern about the team’s missed opportunities, Mingle emphasized the need to address their conversion rate, especially when playing at home.
“Definitely if you’re a coach and your players fail to take their chances, you will be worried, especially when you’re playing at home, creating chances, and you’re unable to convert. But we will go back to the drawing board and work on it,” he stated.
With the draw, Nations FC has moved up to the third position on the league table with 24 points and is set to host Bechem United in their next fixture.
