Newly appointed Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC captain, Ismail Abdul Ganiyu says he feels honoured to be made the substantive captain for a great club like Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC.
The Ghanaian international centre-back was confirmed by the Porcupine Warriors as the new leader for the playing boday ahead of the 2021-22 season in Ghana.
The position became vacant after Kotoko’s captains left the club this summer and has been deemed the right player to lead the team.
He extended his contract with Red and Whites outfit by another two years which will keep him at the club till at least 2023.
“Another platform to enjoy the teaming support of the Red Army and most importantly putting on the famous Red shirt.I also take this opportunity to whole heartedly accept the new responsibility placed on me as a leader”,he wrote on social media.
Ganiyu has been capped by Ghana three times and is a full international defender for the Black Stars.
