Divine Naah has completed a move from Kauno Žalgiris to league rivals FA Šiauliai in a free transfer, joining the Toplyga side on a deal running from 2026-03-09 to 2027-12-31. The Ghanaian central midfielder, valued at €175k at the time of the switch, becomes the latest experienced addition to Šiauliai’s midfield unit as they reshape their squad for upcoming campaigns.

The transfer keeps the 29-year-old in Lithuania’s top flight, with Naah moving directly between two Toplyga clubs after his spell at Kauno Žalgiris. The deal involves no transfer fee, with Šiauliai acquiring the Obuasi-born midfielder as a free transfer, capitalising on his contract situation and current market valuation.

Naah arrives in Šiauliai with extensive experience across several European leagues. Before his time in Kaunas, he featured for Mosta FC in Malta, Turan-Tovuz IK in Azerbaijan, Hapoel Raanana in Israel, Royal Union Tubize-Braine in Belgium, Örebro SK in Sweden, FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, NAC Breda in the Netherlands and Strømsgodset IF in Norway. Earlier in his career he was on the books of Manchester City U21 after leaving Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy, building a CV that spans Scandinavia, Western Europe and now the Baltics.

Primarily a central midfielder and right-footed, Naah has been used as a core option in the middle of the park at several of his previous clubs. His market value peaked at around €650k as a teenager at NAC Breda and has fluctuated with his moves across Europe, settling at €175k shortly before this transfer from Kauno Žalgiris to FA Šiauliai. That profile makes him a relatively low-cost but seasoned option for a club operating within the financial realities of the Lithuanian league.

The switch also underlines the long-term path of Naah’s career abroad. Despite his Ghanaian nationality and formative years at Right to Dream, the midfielder has spent his entire senior club career outside Ghana, continuing that pattern by remaining in Lithuania rather than returning to his home country. His journey from Obuasi to clubs in England, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Israel, Malta, Azerbaijan and now Lithuania highlights a footballer who has consistently pursued opportunities in diverse European environments.

For Kauno Žalgiris, Naah’s exit follows a period in which his market value gradually declined from a high of €450k during the 2022 calendar year to €175k in late 2025, suggesting a natural point for both club and player to part ways. For FA Šiauliai, the signing represents a calculated move for a player who has already adapted to the style and demands of the Toplyga and arrives without a fee.

While his latest step does not take him to a new country, it reinforces a career defined by mobility and adjustment to different tactical systems and competitions. With his contract at FA Šiauliai set to run until 2027-12-31, Naah now has a defined window to re-establish his value in Lithuania’s top flight and shape the next phase of his career in European football.
