Fiorentina’s midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat, has reached an agreement on personal terms with Premier League giants Manchester United, turning down a potential move to Liverpool.
Amrabat is set to depart Fiorentina, as the Serie A side is eager to balance their financial books this summer. They had attempted to sell Amrabat to Barcelona in January and are now willing to consider bids in the region of £25 million for the talented Moroccan international.
Manchester United is well aware of Fiorentina’s urgency to sell the player and has been concentrating on strengthening other areas of their squad, such as the goalkeeper and striker positions, before pursuing Amrabat.
Corriere della Sera reports that Amrabat declined an offer from Liverpool because he has already agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, their Premier League rival. Notably, the 26-year-old had previously worked with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag during their time at Utrecht.
Furthermore, it’s mentioned that Manchester United is also looking to secure a £60 million deal for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund before formally proceeding with the move for Amrabat. The Red Devils are actively planning their summer transfer activities to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
