Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has praised his administration’s efforts in elevating the performances of the country’s national teams, citing a series of impressive achievements in the past year.
The various national teams have made significant strides in their respective competitions, with the Black Stars playing in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Black Queens returning to the continental stage, and the Black Princesses and Black Satellites winning gold medals at the African Games.
Okraku highlighted the target of his administration to guide the Black Stars to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
“We have made strides in our national team performances with the qualifications to the WAFCON, to the men’s AFCON and at the moment, we are in a good position in our determination to qualify to the [2026] World Cup,” he said.
The team is currently second in Group I of the qualifiers and is level on points with Comoros, who occupy the top spot. The president emphasized that the team is on a good trajectory to achieve this goal.
The GFA President made these remarks at the 30th Ordinary Congress, where he also praised the performances of the national teams and set out his vision for the future of Ghanaian football.
