Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has expressed high expectations for Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo, believing he has the potential to contribute even more to the team.
Iraola’s comments came after the 24-year-old scored the opening goal and was named Man of the Match in Bournemouth’s impressive 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
Semenyo, who previously played for Bristol City, has now netted four league goals in ten appearances this season, matching half of his total tally from the previous year.
“He has been playing very well all season. I think we demand a lot from him because I believe he can give a lot. Today, he probably scored, and everyone is giving him more recognition,” Iraola remarked.
“With Milos [Kerkes], he’s playing very well. He’s contributing significantly and providing essential offensive support. Now he will likely receive the recognition he deserves because I think he’s doing well. But we have to keep going.”
Iraola also noted, “We’ve shown that if we give our best, we can compete against this kind of opposition.”
Semenyo’s impressive form has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, with Liverpool reportedly monitoring his progress as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
