Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan has expressed confidence ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting the Pharaohs are determined to finally make a strong impact on the global stage.
Speaking before their clash against Spain, Hassan highlighted Egypt’s dominance in Africa but admitted their struggles at the World Cup.
“The world knows we have won Africa seven times, but at the World Cup we have not made a positive impact due to past circumstances,” he said.
Despite those setbacks, he believes the current squad is capable of changing the story.
“This time, we have a highly promising team,” he added.
With star man Mohamed Salah leading the side, expectations are rising that Egypt can finally translate their continental success to the world stage.
“By God’s will, I am confident we will deliver a truly special World Cup,” Hassan stated.
Egypt will be aiming to move beyond their history of early exits, as Hassan insists the team are heading into the tournament with belief and ambition rather than just participation.
