Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has backed Antoine Semenyo to win more trophies, insisting the forward’s recent success is only the beginning of a promising run at the highest level.
Semenyo joined Ghana’s camp in Vienna on Monday ahead of international friendlies against Austria and Germany, where he was warmly received by teammates and technical staff with a guard of honour in recognition of his latest achievement.
The 26-year-old played a key role in Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley Stadium, clinching the Carabao Cup—his first major trophy since his high-profile January move.
Speaking after his arrival, Addo congratulated the forward and expressed optimism about his future, suggesting more silverware could be on the horizon.
“First of all, again, I would like to congratulate you for winning this cup. Hopefully not the last cup this season,” Addo said.
“You still have some chances, I think. Really, really good work, what you have done, but also your team. We would like to congratulate you on that.”
Since completing his move from AFC Bournemouth, Semenyo has seamlessly integrated into a Manchester City side competing strongly on multiple fronts, including the Premier League and FA Cup.
