Ghana’s goalkeepers’ trainer, Fatau Dauda, has sounded a rallying cry to the Black Stars, stating that their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup rests on their shoulders.
According to Dauda, the team is fully committed to making Ghanaians proud and ensuring their qualification for the tournament.
The Black Stars are currently leading their group with 9 points after four matches and have four more matches to secure their spot in the next World Cup. With the tournament set to be hosted across three countries – USA, Canada, and Mexico – for the first time, Ghanaians are eagerly awaiting the team’s performance.
Dauda emphasized the importance of the upcoming matches, stating that the team is working towards achieving success. “As Kudus would say, their visa is in our hands, so we are doing our best to achieve success. It may take time, but we are working towards it,” he said.
The team has already made a decent start to their qualification campaign, having won three out of four matches so far. They kicked off with a 1-0 win over Madagascar, followed by a 1-0 loss to Comoros.
They then secured a 2-1 victory against Mali in Bamako and a 4-3 win over the Central African Republic.
