Hearts of Oak dumped the 3-0 defeat they suffered to Karela United over the weekend to beat Regional rivals Accra Lions 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The first half of the game was cagily contested and ended scoreless. Both goalkeepers pulled a good save to keep the scoreline barren. Eric Ofori Antwi denied David Oduro from close range in the 25th minute, Andrews Owusu at the other end denied Linda Mtange in the final minutes of the half.

Hearts of Oak returned from the break a much improved side and opened the scoring in the 65th minute, Linda Mtange was alert to hammer in a rebound after Andrew Owusu had stopped a crossing from Samuel Inkoom.

Accra Lions pushed for the equalizer in the remaining minutes of the game but Hearts of Oak held on to win 1-0 and move into 3rd place on the league table.

King Faisal rallied from behind to beat Karela 3-2 at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Karela went ahead in the 42nd minute through Emmanuel Boakye Owusu. A minute later, Samuel Kusi scored to bring King Faisal level .

In the second half, Abdul Latif and Benjamin Bature scored to give King a 3-1 lead, before Ishmael Nketiah scored later on to reduce the deficit for Karela, 3-2.

In Tarkwa, the game between Medeama and Bibiani GoldStars at the Akoon Park ended abruptly after the first 45 minutes due to heavy downpour. The game which was stopped at 0-0 will continue tomorrow morning at 10:00 pm.

Three goals in the final 10 minutes saw Tamale City beat Nsoatreman 2-1 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. A John Kofi own goal gave Tamale City the lead in the 83rd minute. Walid Fuseini scored in the second minute of additional time to bring Nsoatreman level, but Mathew Agama’s 95th minute goal stole all three points for Tamale City.
