Antoine Semenyo has been voted the English Premier League Player of the Week following his outstanding display in Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Fulham.
The Ghana forward delivered a Man of the Match performance at the Etihad Stadium, playing a decisive role in the comfortable win. He opened the scoring with a sharp finish from close range after capitalising on a defensive lapse by Fulham.
Semenyo then turned provider, setting up Nico O’Reilly for City’s second goal before Erling Haaland sealed the victory with the third.
The 26-year-old, who joined Manchester City in January, continues to make an immediate impact at the club. His latest recognition makes him the third City player to win the weekly award this season, following previous wins by Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.
Semenyo secured 39 percent of the public vote to claim the honour, finishing ahead of Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, who polled 32 percent. Other nominees included Lukas Nmecha of Leeds United, Wolves goalkeeper José Sá, Newcastle United’s Malick Thiaw, and Burnley’s Jaidon Anthony.
The former Bournemouth attacker has enjoyed a flying start to life at Manchester City, scoring five goals in seven appearances since his arrival.
His latest award further highlights his growing influence in the Premier League and strengthens his status as one of Ghana’s top performers abroad.
