Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed has admitted there will strong competition for Ghana Premier League golden boot this season after Ghana’s all-time leading top scorer Asamoah Gyan returned to the local league to sign for Legon Cities FC.
Nonetheless, the former Asante Kotoko striker says he will win the golden boot ahead of legendary striker Asamoah Gyan.
Gyan has returned to the local league, 17 years after he left.
“Asamoah Gyan’s return to the Ghana Premier League is a blessing to Ghana football.
“No matter what happens I’m going to win the goal king in the 2020/2021 football season”, Yahaya Mohammed said in an interview on Angel 102.9 FM on Monday night.
Yahaya netted 11 goals in 15 games before the 2019/20 was cancelled because of coronavirus.
The 2020/21 football season starts on 13 November with Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak facing Techiman Eleven Wonders and Aduana Stars respectively in their opening fixture.
