Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the adjustment in the training programme in the run to the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
During a press conference held on Thursday at FUFA House in Kampala, FUFA Finance Director Decolas Kiiza released the budget of Shs 4.39 billion to cater for the Uganda Cranes’ preparations and the upcoming tournament .
We presented our budget to the Ministry of Education and the National Council of Sports hopping for their response soon.
At this moment, the budget is before the desk of the Sports Minister, Hon. Janet Museveni and we expect the best response
Kiiza added that the government has never disappointed and whenever FUFA has approved it and expecting the same during these preparations.
Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic later unveiled the Uganda Cranes preparation programme before heading to Gabon on 14th January 2017 .
The team is currently conducting a residential training which started on Monday until Saturday December 24th 2016 when players will have a break.
Nine players will be released from the camp on Saturday and twenty will return for training 26th December 2017 who will later be joined by six players as team will fly to Tunisia on 30th December 2016 where a friendly match will be held on the 4th of January with Tunisia.
The team will later fly to Dubai where they will camp and have friendly matches with Slovakia on the 8th and Ivory Coast on 11th January 2017.
The team will fly to Gabon on the 14th January 2017.
Micho concluded his statement by thanking Ugandans for the support to the Uganda Cranes and asked them to pray for the team during this season and later wished the best to the Ugandan teams in the upcoming CSF club competitions.
