Ghana’s national team head coach, Chris Hughton, has emphasized that his team will not underestimate Madagascar in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualification match.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, June 13, the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager stated that the Black Stars are approaching the game with the same level of preparation and respect as they would for any other opponent.
Hughton acknowledged the challenge posed by Madagascar and emphasized that his team will be well-prepared and ready to face them. He highlighted the importance of doing thorough research and analysis on the opposition, as every international team is striving to perform well.
The coach expressed that there are no easy matches at this level and that his team will not take any opponent lightly, including Madagascar.
“When we do our homework, when we watch the opposition, there isn’t one opposition that we see that we think this is going to be easy. There isn’t one. Every international team is fighting to do well. The Madagascar team will be no different,” Coach Chris Hughton said.
The Black Stars have been actively training on Monday and Tuesday as part of their preparations for the crucial match against Madagascar, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 18.
They will continue their training sessions on Wednesday and Thursday before traveling to Antananarivo for the AFCON qualifier, fully focused on securing victory.
