Former Hearts Captain Amankwah Mireku has blamed the low quality of local players in the Ghana Premier league on communication application Whatsapp saying the players spend too much time on the social media platform instead of training.
Mireku speaking on issues relating to the low standard of the current generation of players in the Ghana league was quick to attribute the sudden retrogression of standards to players wasting much time on social media platforms.
“Current Ghanaian players in the domestic league spend more time on whatsapp than training” The Ex- Hearts captain Amankwa Mireku told Kumasi based Abusua FM.
Mireku added, during their time in the early 2000, discipline was a major factor to the many successes they achieved through rigorous training.
