Ghana Premier League side Bechem United have intensified efforts to secure the future of forward Mohammed Aminu, with negotiations underway over a new contract extension.
The Hunters are reportedly in advanced discussions with the player’s representatives as they look to finalise a fresh agreement before the start of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
According to reports from sports journalist Shaban Mohammed, Bechem United’s management moved quickly to begin talks after the forward’s impressive performances convinced the technical team of his importance to their attacking plans.
Retaining Aminu has become a major priority for the club, with the leadership determined to avoid losing the attacker as a free agent while maintaining stability within the squad.
The club is also focused on preserving continuity in attack as they prepare for another challenging domestic campaign.
Aminu, who was once regarded as one of Ghana’s brightest young talents, rose to national prominence after representing the country at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
His performances at youth level attracted international attention, leading to a reported $2 million transfer move to English Premier League giants Manchester City from the West African Football Academy in 2018.
However, his progress was affected by a series of loan spells across Europe and recurring injury setbacks, limiting his opportunities to establish himself abroad.
The forward eventually returned to Ghanaian football, where he revived his career with Bechem United and reminded supporters of the qualities that made him one of the country’s most promising prospects.
His pace, attacking ability and experience have made him a valuable member of the Hunters’ squad, prompting the club to secure his long-term commitment.
With negotiations reportedly at an advanced stage, both sides are now working on final contract details, with an official announcement expected once an agreement is reached.
A successful renewal would provide Bechem United with a significant boost as they prepare for the new season, while giving Mohammed Aminu the platform to continue his career revival in the Ghana Premier League.
