Ghana’s journey to the finals was solidified after a commanding 3-1 victory over Senegal in a heated semi-final clash at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday night.
From the outset, the Black Princesses asserted their dominance, launching relentless attacks against their Senegalese counterparts. The breakthrough came in the 18th minute, courtesy of a stellar equalizer from forward Tracey Twum, setting the tone for a relentless offensive display.
Despite numerous opportunities, Ghana managed to extend their lead just before halftime, with Ophelia Amponsah netting a crucial goal in injury time, doubling the host nation’s advantage.
In the second half, Senegal managed to pull one back through a penalty converted by Kande, narrowing the deficit. However, Ghana swiftly responded, sealing their victory with a decisive goal from Ophelia Amponsah in the 55th minute.
