Former FC Koln deputy manager Ibrahim Tanko will work as a scout for Ghana in upcoming games including the upcoming 2021 AFCON tournament, football agent Yussif Chibsah has revealed.
The Ex- Dortmund player, who worked as assistant manager for Cameroon during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, could to be assigned to monitor Ghana’s Group C opponents and furnish head coach Charles Akonnor with the reports as Ghana seek to end its forty years trophy drought.
Tanko also served as assistant coach of Ghana’s Black Stars during the leadership of James Kwasi Appiah and has vast knowledge about African football having featured 9 times for the four-time AFCON winners.
“In the upcoming games he [Ibrahim Tanko] will help C.K [Akonnor] with scouting,” he told Pure FM.
Tanko who is currently unattached to any club, coached Ghana’s U23 side that finished fourth at the 2019 U23 AFCON in Egypt.
