The Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey, has praised Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, for his vital role in the national team’s improved performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana recently ended a six-game winless streak with two emphatic victories—a 5-0 win over Chad in Accra last Friday, followed by a 3-0 triumph against Madagascar in Morocco on Monday. These back-to-back victories have placed the Black Stars at the top of Group I, three points ahead of second-placed Comoros, with four matches remaining in the qualifiers.
Kofi Adams’ Contributions Praised
Speaking to 3Sports, Dr. Randy Abbey credited Ghana’s upturn in form to meticulous preparation and the active involvement of Kofi Adams in ensuring the team’s success.
“He’s been very, very instrumental. If you know what he went through to ensure that the stadium was ready and all the team’s needs were met… He worked extremely hard, even beyond his ministerial duties, to ensure things went smoothly,” Abbey stated.
Black Stars’ Management Behind the Success
In addition to Adams’ dedication, Dr. Abbey also highlighted the efforts of the Black Stars’ management team, led by himself and Vice Chairman Stephen Appiah, as a crucial factor in the team’s recent success.
