Ghanaian-born American winger Emmanuel Sabbi was on target for Danish side OB Odense in their 1-2 defeat to Aalborg BK on Friday afternoon.
The 22-year-old versatile forward scored under 60 seconds after kick-off to give the Blue and Whites a deserving lead after starting the game on a high note.
The first half could not produce any goal aside from Sabbi’s early goal as the well-contested opening 45 minutes ended in Odense’s favour.
Tom Van Weert, after three minutes from the break, equalized for the Red and Whites after not so impressive from his team to make it 1-1 early in the second half with all to play for.
28 minutes to full time, Tim Prica scored the second goal for Aalborg to turn the game around after going into the break a goal down.
Aalborg held onto the lead despite excessive pressure mounted on them by the opposition who were seeking for the equalizer to pick a draw from the game as the match ended 2 – 1 in favour of the Red and Whites.
Sabbi played last three seasons at Hobro IK in Denmark where he scored 11 goals in 55 appearances.
