President Mahama made this pledge when delivering highlights of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto 2016 at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on Tuesday evening.

The first gentleman of the land commenting further said one of the community-based Senior High Schools in each of the ten regions of the country will be selected and developed into a center of excellence in sports.

“It will be a secondary school but all the young people who show excellence in sports will be brought to that secondary school and so there will be ten of them in the regions – they will compete in athletics, and all the sports against each other and we will draw young talents from there to feed the national teams”, he noted.

The Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, President Mahama added, will be refurbished to serve as a sports and educational center for young people.
