The Black Stars of Ghana ended 2021 at the 52nd position globally and 8th in Africa in the Coca Cola FIFA ranking released on Thursday.
The four-time African champions amassed 1428.97 points and are behind Cameroon in the African section going into the AFCON.
It was a year of mixed feelings for the Black Stars as they picked form after the appointment of Milovan Rajevac as head coach.
The Black Stars won some crucial games including the 1-0 victory over South Africa in the decider at Cape Coast Stadium.
Ghana’s highest ever ranking by FIFA was 14th position in February, April and May 2008 whereas the lowest remains 89th in June 2004.
