Ghanaian-born German defender, Benjamin Paa Kwesi Henrichs, has shared his excitement after starring in RB Leipzig’s narrow defeat to Bayern Leverkusen on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year old was in full 90 minutes of action for Leipzig as they suffered a 3-2 defeat at the BayArena.

”Not the start we had imagined, but we keep going!! ️Always special for me personally to play in Leverkusen. As a little boy on the way to school, I used to drive the train past the stadium and now I play there. I’m living out my dream,” he wrote on Instagram after the game.

Meanwhile, Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong played a pivotal role in Bayer Leverkusen’s exhilarating 3-2 victory against RB Leipzig in a German Bundesliga showdown.

Frimpong, did not only found the back of the net but also contributed an assist at the BayArena.

Bayer Leverkusen’s first attempt on target materialized after eight minutes, but Jonas Hofmann’s strike missed the mark by a margin of three meters.

In the 10th minute, team captain Lukas Hradecky thwarted a long-distance shot from Benjamin Henrichs.

A dynamic offensive maneuver involving Granit Xhaka and Victor Boniface within the Leverkusen Bundesliga setup culminated in the ball finding its way into the six-yard box, where Jeremie Frimpong clinically dispatched it to open the scoring in the 24th minute.

Armed with a one-goal lead, Bayer Leverkusen gradually asserted their dominant playing style against their opponents from Saxony. Their persistence paid off in the 35th minute, as Jonathan Tah directed the ball into the net with a header from a corner taken by Jonas Hofmann, doubling the advantage to 2-0.

RB Leipzig managed to reduce the deficit to 2-1 in the 39th minute when Dani Olmo executed a header from the right side of the six-yard box, guiding the ball into the bottom right corner. David Raum provided the assist, delivering a precise cross following a corner.

Jeremie Frimpong’s influence extended to the 64th minute, when he set up Florian Wirtz’s goal with an assist.

Leipzig made a comeback attempt, narrowing the margin to 3-2 through Lois Openda’s header in the 71st minute.

Bayer Leverkusen skillfully safeguarded their lead and clinched all three points, securing the victory.
