The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has imposed an indefinite ban on Nsoatreman FC from using the Nana Konamansah Park as their home venue following the violent incidents that erupted during their Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 clash against Asante Kotoko.
The match, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Nsoatreman, was marred by chaos, injuries, and the tragic loss of life, prompting swift action from the GFA to ensure the safety of all stakeholders while investigations are conducted.
Citing Article 14(2) of the Premier League Regulations, the GFA enforced the ban as an immediate measure to prevent further incidents. Additionally, the association has tasked its Security Committee, led by DCOP Lydia Donkor, along with FA Prosecutors, to compile all relevant evidence, including match reports and documentation, for submission to the Disciplinary Committee.
The Ghana Police Service has also been engaged to conduct a full-scale investigation, with a directive to identify, arrest, and prosecute individuals responsible for the violence.
The GFA reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on violence, intimidation, and hooliganism in Ghanaian football, warning that severe sanctions will be imposed on any club, official, or supporter found culpable.
