Ghanaian giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC thrashed Real Tamale United FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday evening.
Kotoko bounced back to winning ways after drawing against Legon Cities FC in their previous game at the El-Wak sports stadium in Accra.
Before the game, Kotoko suffered a 2-0 defeat to Medeama SC in their last game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and needed a convincing win ahead of the Kumasi derby on Wednesday against Kumasi King Faisal FC.
Kotoko started the game on a blistering pace and was purposeful upfront right from the beginning of the match stating their intentions very early in the game.
Real Tamale United FC goalkeeper, Yaw Osei was Red carded in the first half with Augustine Agyapong scoring from the resulting free-kick.
Just two minutes into the second half of the match, Kotoko were awarded a spot kick which was nicely converted by Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala to make it 2-0.
Mukwala scored a sumptuous and a spectacular goal minutes later to score the third goal of the match to put the hosts 3-0 up after 64 minutes.
Michael de Souza from Brazil scored from close range in additional time period of the match to make it 4-0 to the Porcupine Warriors at full time.
