Goals from Abdul Basit, Stephen Amankonah and Paul Atta Agyei were all that the Blues needed to record a 3-1 win over Ashantigold SC at the Berekum Golden City Park on Wednesday afternoon in matchday 24 of the Ghana Premier League.
Abdul Basit opened the scoring for the hosts after 35 minutes on the clock after both teams failed to hit the back of the net in the early stanza of the crucial game.
Atta Agyei, however with a fine finish doubled the lead in the 51st minute mark of the game.
The visitors after going down twice kept pushing and got a consolation goal through winger Yaw Annor in the 66th minute.
In the 67th minute, the home side were awarded what seems to be a controversial penalty. Captain Stephen Amankonah stepped forward and calmly converted the penalty to give his side an emphatic 3-1 win.
The defeat means that Ashantigold have picked just a point in their last two games having drew one apiece against Eleven Wonders last Sunday at home.
