Swiss side FC Lugano have announced that they have signed striker Asumah Abubakar from Ghana with a contract valid until 30.06.2023 (with option for a further season.
The twenty-three-year-old arrives on the banks of the Ceresio from Kriens, a team from the cadet league with whom he has scored 22 goals and 10 assists in 47 matches; he arrived in Switzerland after playing in the Netherlands with Willem II and MVV Maastricht.
Abubakar, who also boasts two appearances and a goal with the Portuguese U19 national team, has just been named best player of the 2020 Challange League alongside Davide Callà and Petar Pusic.
Ransford Selasi takes the opposite path; the midfielder of Ghanaian origins, who has made 7 appearances in the black and white jersey, is loaned to Kriens until the end of the current season.
