Ghana midfielder Godfred Donsah is set to return to Italian Serie A side Bologna with his loan deal with Cercle Brugge coming to an end.
The defensive midfield sealed a season-long loan move to play for the Belgian Pro League club at the beginning of the 2019/season.
His deal was supposed to end on June 30, 2020, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic which has led to the early completion of the Belgian top-flight, he is expected to make an early return to join the Rossoblu team.
Speaking in an interview, Godfred Donsah stressed on his love for Bologna and has indicated that he is ready to return to the club to fight for his place.
“I am very close to Bologna. When the team won in Naples and Rome I called while everyone was having dinner. When I was told last summer that I had to go on loan I accepted but I was also very sorry.
“In the past Torino had called me twice. He had offered me even more. I refused. Now I know that the best of me is yet to come. Going back to Bologna? I am there”.
At Cercle Brugge, Donsah made 19 appearances for the club and managed to make an impression.
