Stade Rennais the team of Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana recorded a big win over heavyweights Paris Saint – Germain in the French Ligue 1 over the weekend and coach Bruno Genesio has revealed how he and his charges managed to achieved the feat.
Rennes won 2-0 and Sulemana stationed on the left wing in the Rennais formation set up the first goal for Gaeten Laborde in the 45th minute just before the break.
“The weak point would be a big word. It’s a very great team, it didn’t play out much even if the score is favorable.” Bruno Genesio said.
“It was mainly using the wings, bringing the imbalances to the sides, with game reversals. We had observed that over several matches. It was the point where we wanted to insist the most. It was also putting them in situations that they don’t really like to do, namely running towards their goal and having them defend by retreating. So we used the occupation of breadth and these calls behind the defense that hurt them.” he revealed further.
Sulemana thanks to his pace, dribbling and confidence was thus very useful to Genesio’s tactics.
