Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has made it clear that his side will continue to fight for the Ghana Premier League title until the final whistle of the season.
The Porcupine Warriors traveled to Bibiani over the weekend to take on Gold Stars in a crucial Week 32 fixture. Both teams were in need of a win to boost their title hopes, but after a tightly contested match, neither side could break the deadlock, resulting in a goalless draw.
Despite the dropped points, Coach Zito remains hopeful. Speaking after the match, he stated that Kotoko still has a chance to be crowned champions, insisting the title race is not over yet.
“Anything can happen. Until it is officially over, I won’t give up,” he said. “The remaining matches can bring surprises, so we’ll keep pushing.”
Kotoko currently sit third on the league table with 55 points, five points behind leaders Nations FC with just two matches left to play.
For Kotoko to have a realistic shot at the title, they must win both of their remaining fixtures and hope Nations FC drop points in both of theirs.
The title race remains open, and with Zito’s determined mindset, Kotoko will aim to make the most of any opportunity that comes their way in the final stretch of the season.
