Medeama SC midfield star Salim Adams has travelled to Sudan to complete the final stages of his transfer to African heavyweights Al Hilal, with the deal expected to be finalized in the coming days.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to undergo the remaining formalities, including a medical examination and contract signing, before officially joining one of the continent’s most successful clubs ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Adams leaves Medeama after enjoying a sensational debut campaign that played a pivotal role in the club’s Ghana Premier League triumph.
The dynamic midfielder was one of the standout performers in the Ghanaian top flight, scoring 12 goals in 28 league appearances as the Mauve and Yellow secured only the second league title in the club’s history.
His remarkable performances earned him the Medeama SC Player of the Season award during the club’s title celebrations, cementing his status as one of the league’s finest midfielders.
Adams joined Medeama from Hearts of Oak in September 2025, a move that has proved to be one of the club’s smartest pieces of business in recent years.
Within a single season, he established himself as the heartbeat of Medeama’s midfield with his goals, creativity, energy and leadership, attracting widespread admiration across the Ghana Premier League.
Interest in Adams had intensified following his outstanding campaign.
Tanzanian giants Simba SC were strongly linked with the midfielder, but Sudanese powerhouse Al Hilal ultimately won the race after accelerating negotiations and presenting an attractive offer.
The Sudanese champions view Adams as a key addition to their squad as they prepare to compete for domestic honours and challenge in the CAF Champions League.
Adams’ exceptional form also earned him his first senior Black Stars call-up for Ghana’s international friendly against Mexico in May, underlining his rapid development into one of the country’s most exciting midfielders.
His impending move to Al Hilal represents the next major chapter in a career that continues to gather momentum.
While Medeama would have preferred to retain one of their most influential players for their CAF Champions League campaign, the opportunity to join one of Africa’s biggest clubs is understood to have been impossible to resist.
The Tarkwa-based club has already begun rebuilding its squad, signing Emmanuel Boateng, Etse Dogli, Dominic Amponsah, and Sudan international goalkeeper Monged El Neel Abuzaid Salman as preparations for the new season gather pace.
Unless there are any unexpected last-minute setbacks, Adams is expected to complete the transfer before linking up with his new teammates for pre-season.
