Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus has been handed an additional two-game suspension following his red card against Tottenham last month, according to a ruling from the English Football Association on Wednesday, November 6.
The incident took place in the 82nd minute of West Ham’s 4-1 loss, when Kudus fouled Dutch defender Micky van de Ven, sparking a confrontation on the field. Van de Ven claimed Kudus “punched him in the face,” while Kudus also shoved midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, further escalating tensions.
Initially, referee Andy Madley issued a yellow card, but a VAR review upgraded it to a red card for violent conduct, automatically triggering a three-game suspension for Kudus.
Following this, the Football Association reviewed the case and charged Kudus with an additional count of violent conduct, resulting in an extended two-game ban.
Kudus has already missed matches against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, and will now sit out West Ham’s upcoming fixtures against Newcastle on November 25 and Arsenal on November 30.
