TSG Hoffenheim and Ghanaian defender Kasim Adams have mutually agreed to part ways, as announced by the Bundesliga club on Tuesday.
Adams, 28, will not see his contract renewed following its expiration.
Adams joined Hoffenheim in 2018 after being signed from BSC Young Boys in Bern. Unfortunately, his time on the pitch was marred by numerous injuries, limiting him to just 13 Bundesliga appearances in his first season.
Seeking more playing time, Adams was loaned to Fortuna Düsseldorf for the 2019/20 season. His most recent loan was with FC Basel during the 2022/23 season, where he played a role in the Swiss team’s journey to the semi-finals of the Conference League.
Overall, the Ghanaian international appeared in 29 Bundesliga matches, three DFB Cup games, two Champions League matches, and four Europa League games for Hoffenheim.
Alexander Rosen, Hoffenheim’s managing director, commented on Adams’ departure, saying, “We must frankly admit that from a sporting perspective, Kasim’s time with us did not meet expectations.”
He added, “Despite the lack of sporting success, Kasim always conducted himself with utmost professionalism.”
