Black Meteors goalkeeper Jordan Amissah has expressed his sadness at the premature end of their AFCON journey, acknowledging the disappointment but emphasizing the valuable lessons learned and the determination to come back stronger
With a deep sense of disappointment and a heavy heart, Amissah humbly acknowledged the team’s shortcomings, seeking solace and understanding from a nation that had placed its hopes and aspirations in their hands.
The Black Meteors of Ghana began their campaign with a 3-2 victory over Congo in their first game. However, they faced a humiliating defeat of 5-1 against the host nation in the second game. The third game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Emmanuel Yeboah scoring the goal for Ghana.
Despite being an unused substitute throughout the three group stage games, Amissah expressed his disappointment and promised to bounce back, having gained invaluable experience with the national team for the first time.
“Sad to see our AFCON journey end so soon and in this manner but we all take a valuable lesson from this experience and hope to bounce back stronger,” Amissah shared on his Twitter page.
