Astute football agent Mino Raiola has threatened to transfer Dutch-born Ghanaian promising striker Brian Brobbey from Ajax Amsterdam according to Nieuwe Revu.
The portal reports that Mino Raiola has threatened to put two of his Ajax diamonds (Ryan Gravenberch and Brian Brobbey, both 18 years old) on transport if they don’t get more playing time at the club.
Brobbey has been in scintillating for Ajax in the ongoing campaign, scoring five goals in eight games for the Reserve side in the Eerste Divisie.
The middleman has brokered some of football’s biggest transfers but his tactics have made him one of the game’s most controversial figures.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old striker recently said in an interview that he is confident of staying at Ajax.
“That contract extension will happen. My agent Mino Raiola is in talks with Marc Overmars. I will sign a contract extension, I’m a 100% sure.” said Brobbey.
He added: “By working very hard, I want to become a mainstay. The trainer was absolutely right that I wasn’t fit enough. I couldn’t deliver for ninety minutes what is asked of a striker at Ajax, but thanks to the tough training sessions I can now do that”,
Brobbey, the younger brother of RSC Anderlecht defender Derrick Luckassen Brobbey joined the Ajax academy aged 8. Last season he made the step from the youth teams to Jong Ajax, the reserve side. In total, he’s played 24 matches for this team and scored 12 goals.
He scored on his first senior team appearance for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday as they demolished Fortuna Sittard 5-2 at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
