Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara is optimistic that the Phobians are capable of achieving something great with 20 games remaining in the current season.
After a tough Super Clash defeat to Asante Kotoko on Sunday, Hearts of Oak bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Berekum Chelsea on Friday night.
“Berekum Chelsea have a good team, but we managed to secure the three points today,” Ouattara said. “When they scored, we started to feel the pressure, but we made some changes to inject vitality into the team and continue pushing forward.”
He also expressed gratitude towards the fans who showed up to support the team. “We thank the fans who came today to support the team. The league is far from over; we have 20 matches to play. Let’s stay focused on our chances. We have a big dream. If the dream becomes a reality, we will embrace it; if not, we will move forward,” he added.
Ouattara’s belief that Hearts can still achieve something significant is well-founded, as the Phobians are just two points behind league leaders Heart of Lions.
The coach has previously outlined his intention to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, and with Hearts’ last league title coming in the 2020/21 season, they will look to reignite their title ambitions when they face struggling Accra Lions on Christmas Day.
