Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Enoch Morrison has spoken candidly about his departure from the club, revealing that he parted ways with the Porcupine Warriors on good terms with coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Morrison was released by Kotoko along with over 20 other players ahead of the new season, but he stressed that there is no bad blood between him and the coach.
The midfielder revealed that they had a brief meeting after the league ended, where they exchanged pleasantries before he went on holiday.
In an interview on Angel TV, Morrison explained that it was Coach Ogum who called him later that week to inform him of the decision to release him, which came as a surprise to him. However, Morrison said he accepted the decision and wished the coach well.
“There’s no bad blood between coach Ogum and I. We greeted and spoke briefly at our last meeting after the league ended and I went on holiday”
“Later that week, I received a call from the coach on his decision and I said thanks and wished him well. If I had any bad energy concerning him, I would have probably hanged up”
“I informed my manager and the next transfer plan will be finalized soon. It’s a decision I hardly expected and it surprised me. However, I have to accept and move on with my career.”
Reports suggest that several Ghanaian clubs have shown interest in signing Morrison, but he is expected to make a move abroad during the current transfer window.
