Richmond Lamptey scored a spectacular goal for International Allies as they recorded their first victory of the season over Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday night at the Accra Sports stadium.
The two sides were almost apar in terms of ball possession but Hearts of Oak had the better chances to score in the first half as the attacking trident of Abednego Tetteh, Kojo Obeng Jnr. and Patrick Razak failed to shine.
Lamptey produced a moment of sheer brilliance on the hour mark with a long-range effort that left goalkeeper Richard Attah powerless in goal to put the home team in front.
Allies were the better side in the second half and deserve their win as they defended stoutly.
More agony for the Phobians came when defender Nuru Sule and midfielder Emmanuel Nettey went out injured.
Abednego Tetteh with all the enthusiasm that greeted his signing failed to impress on his debut for the Phobians as he looked far below the quality striker he was three seasons ago at Bechem United.
