Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC began their CAF Champions League journey in Mauritania on Sunday afternoon against FC Noaudhibou.
The Porcupine Warriors drew first blood through Osman Ibrahim’s fifth minute strike to put the visitors 1-0 up in the game.
Later on in the first half of the match, the center referee Gaoussou Kane from Mali awarded the hosts with one of the most dubious penalty decisions in the game for the home team to draw level.
There were no more goals as the first leg of the Champions League qualifying stages match between Noaudhibou of Mauritania and Kotoko from Ghana ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Two weeks time, the Porcupines will hosts their counterparts at the Accra Sports Stadium for the second leg.
