Ghana’s Black Stars B coach Maxwell Konadu was crowned coach of the tournament at the just ended WAFU Cup of Nations.
Konadu, 54, beat Senegal trainer Seringne Saliou Dia to the coveted award.
The former Black Stars A deputy coach guided his team to the finals of the competition where they lost to hosts Senegal 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw of a thrilling 120 minutes of football.
Hearts of Oak’s Joseph Esso drew Ghana level after going down in the first half of the extra time to push the game to penalties where Ghana missed three spot kicks to relinquish the title to Senegal.
The former Asante Kotoko gaffer saw his side beat Gambia, Burkina Faso and thrashed Ivory Coast to reach the finals.
Maxwell Konadu and his boys will now shift their attention to the second leg of the CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso on 20th October,2019.
