Operations Manager for West African Football Academy [WAFA] George Ofosuhene has vowed never to move the club’s home matches from Sogakope to Cape Coast.
According to him, the Sogakope based club will resist any attempt by Broadcast Rights holder StarTimes to play their home matches away from home at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Reports in the media suggest StarTimes are planning to move WAFA 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League opener against Asante Kotoko from its original venue [Red Bull Arena] to the Cape Coast sports Stadium to facilitate their live telecast.
But George Ofosuhene speaking on Abusua FM’s sports program dubbed ‘’Abusua Sports Arena’’ said his outfit will strongly object any effort by StarTimes and organizers of the league to move what has been tipped to be a thrilling encounter match to the Cape Coast Stadium.
”We will never move our home matches to any place no matter what” he told Kumasi based Abusua FM.
He continued ”As I am talking to you now, the supporters are on the management throat. They have threatened to boycott our matches if we accept what StarTimes is saying and move our home matches to Cape Coast or any place. Seriously I do not see the rationale behind what StarTimes is saying”.
