Former Accra Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has returned to the country following incessant injuries he has sustained at his new club AFC Leopards in Kenya.
The striker has endured a difficult season scoring five times from 14 appearances and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after picking another injury.
The Ghanaian striker who has netted five goals this season will not be in action for the remainder of the season.
According to Star.co.ke, Fiamenyo has been flown back to Ghana, for special treatment to recover fully.
Confirming the news, Leopards chairman Dan Mule said: “Fiamenyo has been struggling with an injury since his signing. He has been limping and it escalated after the Sportpesa Super Cup. He requested for a sabbatical leave to his country for further treatment and we had to let him go.”
The 25-year-old also played for Hearts of Lions in Ghana, where he was lethal in attack for the former Premier League campaigners. He netted 20 times in 40 appearances.
