England-born Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante, played for West Bromwich Albion on Friday night in their 3-1 defeat to Southampton in the second leg of the Championship playoff semi-finals.

Thomas-Asante started on the bench in this critical encounter but was brought on in the 64th minute to replace striker Jed Wallace. Despite his efforts, West Brom fell short and missed their chance to secure promotion to the English Premier League.

At St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton initially struggled to find the net in the first half but broke through in the second. Will Smallbone opened the scoring, followed by two goals from Adam Armstrong, sealing the victory for the Saints. West Brom managed a consolation goal through Cedric Kipre in stoppage time.

Southampton’s 3-1 win propels them into the Championship playoff final, where they will face Leeds United at Wembley. Ghanaian international Kamaldeen Sulemana, who plays for Southampton, is now on the verge of achieving promotion with his team to the Premier League.
