Collins Atta Poku, Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Football Club, has thrown his full support behind Otto Addo, insisting the Black Stars head coach deserves to lead Ghana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup after successfully securing qualification.
He described the decision by the Ghana Football Association to strengthen the Black Stars’ technical bench as a positive and timely move ahead of the global showpiece. According to him, providing additional technical support will only enhance the team’s chances of performing well on the world stage.
The experienced football administrator dismissed suggestions that Otto Addo should be replaced, stressing that qualification alone earns the coach the right to continue. He noted that if extra expertise is required to improve performance, it is only right that the needed support is provided to help the team succeed.
He expressed confidence in the group of experienced professionals joining the technical team, including Alain Ravera and Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren, believing their input will strengthen preparations and improve player selection ahead of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s Black Stars will begin their 2026 World Cup journey against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing England on June 23 in Boston, and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia on June 27, 2026.
Ghanaians are hopeful that with improved technical backing and continuity on the bench, the Black Stars will make a strong impact at the Mundial in the United States.
