AFC Wimbledon striker Kwesi Appiah enjoyed a dream return to the Ghana national team on Tuesday afternoon as he struck in Black Stars’ 3-1 international friendly win over Mauritania.
The 27-year old striker was making playing his first game for Ghana since 2015 where he excelled at the 2015 Cup of Nations tournament, making four appearances and scoring a goal as Ghana finished second.
Appiah after failing to command a starting berth in Kwasi Appiah’s starting XI against Kenya in the 2019 final qualification match was finally handed a started berth in the friendly and make his presence felt when he opened the scoreline for the Black Stars from the spot on the fifth minute.
Substitute Caleb Ekuban made it 2-1 in the second half before Atletico Madrid ace Thomas Partey added a brilliant strike to seal a 3-1 victory for Ghana.
Adama Ba however, scored the only consolation for for Mauritania.
