Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus is excited to kick off the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The continental showcase, spanning from Saturday, January 13, to February 11, 2024, will witness 24 countries, including the Black Stars, vying for the coveted trophy.
The Black Stars, arriving in Ivory Coast on Wednesday, are set to begin their AFCON journey against Cape Verde on Sunday.
Kudus, who plies his trade for West Ham United in England, seems to have regained full fitness after overcoming an injury scare.
In a message to Ghanaian fans during a photo shoot with CAF, Kudus expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Hi Ghanaian fans, I’m happy to be here. And I can’t wait for the tournament to start. Let’s go Ghana.”
The West African powerhouse aims to clinch the continental trophy in the neighboring country, marking the end of a 42-year quest.
Ghana, with a history of success in AFCON, boasting four titles, the latest in 1982, is determined to navigate through the competition, hoping to overcome past final defeats, including those against Ivory Coast in 1992 and Egypt in 2010, as well as a repeat loss to Ivory Coast in 2015.
