Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold Sporting Club are set to announce French manager Romain Folz, as the club’s new head coach, SPORTSworldGhana.com can confirm.
The Obuasi-based club recently ended their relationship with Serbian trainer Milovan Cirkovic and are set to appoint his replacement.
Cirkovic left the club due to health reasons after being off the pitch for close to two weeks.
Assistant coach Thomas Duah is currently in charge of the team until a substantive coach is hired.
SPORTS WORLD GHANA can report that the Miners have settled on appointing former Bechem United coach Romain Folz who has also worked previously the Ugandan senior national team’s video analyst.
The Frenchman resigned from Bechem United in July last year.
Tendering in his resignation, the French gaffer said: “I want to thank everyone in Bechem United FC for my wonderful time in the club. Most importantly, I want to thank the fans, who have welcomed me with great support since day one and were a vital element in our success. I believe every supporter of the club enjoyed the football we played last season and were happy with the positive results we obtained.”,
“But now, the time has come for us to take separate routes. I wish the best to Bechem United FC for the future, and hope the team will continue to deliver quality football for its incredible supporters,” he said in a statement when he resigned from the club.
AshantiGold currently sits 11th on the league table with 21 points.
