Deputy operations manager of Kumasi Asante Ali Maradona has stated Kotoko is ready to give up on their 29th week league fixture with Regional rivals Ashantigold SC on Wednesday.
Ali speaking on Kumasi based Sikka FM, explained that if Kotoko is to beat Ashgold for them to be relegated, then they ( Kotoko ) will be playing it soft to ensure the Obuasi based club survive relegation.
“Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold play for the Ashanti Region, if we are to beat AshantiGold for them to be relegated, then that will not happen, we won’t beat AshantiGold come Wednesday,
September 14” the deputy Operations manager of Kotoko said on radio.
Ashantigold who won the Ghana premier league last season (2014/15) currently lies 10th on the league log with 36 points, 2 points away from the drop zone.
Meanwhile Asante Kotoko goes in the game having nothing to lose with 2 games to wrap up the season.
Kotoko is on the 4th spot after Hearts of Oak.
