Ashantigold SC is financially ready to represent Ghana in the next CAF Confederation Cup edition but wants the support of Ghana government says CEO Emmanuel Frimpong.
The Ghana Football Association cancelled the current 2019/20 season and offered tickets to Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold to represent in the CAF Champions league and Confederation Cup respectively.
“We are financially ready for Africa but we want the government to also support us” Emmanuel Frimpong told Fox FM on Friday.
The Miners last played in Africa just last year where they were eliminated by Morocco’s RS Berkane in the Confederation Cup.
Meanwhile Ghanaian clubs that reach the group stages of the Champions league and Confederation receive $200 000 and $150 000 respectively from government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
