Black Stars left-back Baba Abdul Rahman glittered in PAOK Thessaloniki Cup win over giants Olympiacos on Saturday evening.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian defender wins his first major trophy in Europe after his team defeated Olympiacos 2-1 in the 2020-21 Greece Cup final.
The Ghanaian lasted 90 minutes on the field before he was substituted and replaced by Enea Mihaj during the additional time period of the end-to-end match.
Portuguese versatile player Adelino André Vieira de Freitas, known as Vieirinha, converted a 36th minute penalty to put the Black and Whites in a deserving lead before the interval.
Five minutes after the break, French midfielder, Yann M’vila grabbed the equalizer for the Red and Whites to set up a pulsating and a frenetic end to the game.
Just when it looked like the game was heading to extra time, Michael Krmencik popped up and scored the winner with a nice finish on the 90th minute mark to win the trophy for PAOK Thessaloniki at the end of the highly competitive and exciting game.
The former Schalke 04 man came close to scoring a goal in the game but fluffed his lines with the chance he got to make it 2-1 before the winner was scored late in the game.
The 2019 double winners lift their first major trophy in two years after missing out on winning a trophy last year as the finished second in the league.
